This guy is a fraud. Please don't waste your time.
Well, this book was hysterical. Starts out as action but becomes a character study of a hard-drinking ex-special forces guy who believes he's being stalked by Lady Bad Luck.Peter Lynx is both pathetic and daunting as he fights the forces of evil. The terrorists he battles and the crazy cult called The Great See-It are all ludicrous in the extreme. I can hardly wait for Book 2!
The Lynx Factor, by George P Saunders goes yard in the literary sense. At its best. You feel that Ludlum himself is whispering in Saunders ear as he writes. Ludlum, at his best, had a genius for grabbing his readers attention literally by the throat and never letting go until the last page. Saunders has a similar gift. It Is Hoped that he never succumbs, as Ludlum did, to the so-called "airplane" read, which necessitated his books to become thicker and thicker and as they did so, they became stultifying the repetitious. Stay away from that you gifted young man you..
Maybe not unrelated here, it should be pointed out that Saunders is becoming a movie producer in his own rights. Perhaps destined for great things. I loved The Lynx Factor. Way to go, Saunders. Keep it up and we'll do lunch.
This is an action packed thrill ride of a book! If you are a fan of the genre this book won't disappoint. It's well written and the characters are intriguing and complex. A very enjoyable read.
